WhatsApp, which recently announced important features such as emoji reactions and Communities, seems to make a change in the Last Seen status that will make users happy. According to WABetaInfo, with the latest beta version of the iOS app, the platform is preparing a feature that will allow users to limit certain people’s Last Seen status.
Last Seen status, a feature that shows when a user last checked the app. It’s also a way to find out if the user has seen your message even if the read receipt is turned off. For a while, it was possible to limit who can see your WhatsApp status only to your contacts. It is also possible to disable the feature completely, but you cannot prevent only certain people from seeing this information.
WhatsApp iOS beta 22.9.0.70 adds the “My Contacts Except…” option under the Last Seen section of the app’s privacy settings. According to WABetaInfo, adding a person to that list will also prevent you from seeing their status. In addition, it was stated that WhatsApp has implemented more detailed privacy controls for both profile photos and sections.
It is unclear when the feature, which is in beta testing for both Android and iOS, will be available to all users.
