Meta (Facebook) has been testing a new visibility option that allows to hide information from certain people for some time now. The feature was first noticed in September. Back then, we learned that the app will allow to hide Last Seen, Profile Picture and About information from selected contacts. The feature is finally available with the latest WhatsApp beta update. Users who have signed up for the WhatsApp beta program will be able to try the new feature.
According to WABetaInfo, the new v2 released for WhatsApp Android version. The 21. 23. 14 beta release introduces new visibility options for several users. To use the feature, users must download the latest version. Users with the latest version can go to the Privacy Settings and use the new option there to add the people they want to block. The new visibility option will be available for WhatsApp status, last seen and about information.
When the newly added option is enabled, selected contacts will not be able to see status information, last seen information and about information. However, when the last seen feature is disabled for a contact, that person’s last seen information cannot be displayed either. However, this limitation does not apply to status and about information.
WABetaInfo noted that the feature is currently available to a limited number of beta testers, so the new visibility option may not appear even in the latest beta update.
