“At the beginning of our research, we thought we could predict the severity of COVID-19 disease by measuring the activity of natural killer (NK) cells that can show a variety of biological activity and destroy infected or cancerous cells. However, the detection of NK-cells secreting high amounts of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) into the plasma during the cytokine storm observed as a result of an overreaction of the immune system in some patients prompted us to look for other searches. Then we decided to use IgM structured anti A1 and anti B isohemagglutinins, which are products of the innate immune system. In the study we conducted on a total of 286 cases hospitalized in the clinic or intensive care unit, We tried to predict blood cell-related immune events and disease severity using IgM structured anti A1 and anti B isohemagglutinins.

This research, as the first research on this subject in the world, revealed that there is a relationship between the early detection of people who cannot create an adequate immune response against the COVID-19 virus and the treatment of the disease. If such measurements become widely used, the condition of many patients at risk of dying from COVID-19 can be predicted, Countless lives can be saved by making certain supplements.
