Vivo has announced that the X80 series, scheduled for launch on April 25, will include the Vivo V1+ imaging chip. The chip supports both MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is also among the information that Vivo worked with MediaTek in the development of V1+ and applied for 30 new patents. In addition, Vivo emphasizes that its proprietary image processor is the first to work with high-end chipset from different companies.
With fine-tuning of the noise reduction algorithm, the V1+ is capable enough to capture night shots when ambient lighting is less than 1 lux. This is also made possible by the chip’s 32 MB SRAM and 8 GB/s data throughput.
In addition, vivo expresses 16 percent improvements in image brightness and 12 percent improvements in white balance accuracy. The most prominent parts of a photo can actually see up to 350 percent more increase in brightness. This makes your photos appear brighter and more transparent, allowing more details to be perceived. Zeiss Natural Color is able to achieve an 8.3 percent improvement in color accuracy and fine tonal adjustments.
V1+ is also capable of making more games run at 90 FPS or 120 FPS. As such, the chip could replace Pixelworks’ existing technology currently used by Vivo and iQOO phones.
