Thousands of Israelis demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in the protests they organized in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and the northern cities of Kaysariyye.
Some of the protesters who gathered in front of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s residence in Jerusalem were attacked by some supporters of the prime minister in the region, Israeli official broadcaster Kan reported.
In similar demonstrations held in Tel Aviv and Kaysariyye cities, slogans were chanted against the corruption of Netanyahu and his government and banners with the words “Netanyahu, you did not succeed, go, go now”, “Netanyahu, you smell bad, go now”.
“Protests have been going on for 37 weeks”
The protests in the country before the general elections to be held on 23 March have been continuing for 37 weeks. Sometimes during the twice-weekly protests, Netanyahu’s resignation is voiced due to corruption cases against Netanyahu and his unsuccessful management in the COVID-19 process.
