The number of cases of alleged “more contagious” variants of the coronavirus rose to 234 in Japan. It was determined that the most common in the country was the species detected in England.
COVID-19 variant detected in 19 states of Japan. There were 38 cases in Saitama, 36 cases in Hyogo, and 29 cases in Niigata.
Thus, the number of cases of COVID-19 in Brazil, South Africa and England, allegedly more contagious, reached 234 in Japan.
Among the three variants, it was determined that the most common nationwide was the species identified in England.
The National Institute of Epidemics (NIID) announced that 93 percent of variant cases were not linked to overseas travel as of the end of last month.
