Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan announced at Sony’s CES 2022 presentation, the new virtual reality device developed for PlayStation 5. Since the virtual reality headset, which was announced to be named PlayStation VR2, was not shown during the presentation, we do not yet know what kind of design the device has.
However, according to The Verge’s report, there is some information about the technical features of PlayStation’s new virtual reality device. As announced, PS VR2, which was developed specifically for PlayStation 5 and can be connected to the console with a single USB-C cable, will have the following features:
- Haptic Feedback
- Eye Tracking
- 4K OLED Display and HDR
- 90/120Hz Frame Rates
- 110 Degree Field of View
Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan has also announced the first big new exclusive game for PS VR2: Horizon Call of the Mountain. However, neither the virtual reality device nor the PS VR2 exclusive game Horizon Call of the Mountain has a release date announced.
