As you may recall, WD My Book Live users recently stated that they encountered an unexpected problem where they lost all their data stored on the network attached storage drive (NAS).
After the events, the company accepted this problem and in order to prevent any problems until the next announcement, the users Internet connections of My Book Live devices advised them to cut it.
At the same time, the company, which recently published an announcement on its official website, announced that they will provide data recovery support to users who lost data in the attack. Noting that no data was stolen from the company’s servers, Western Digital also stated that this problem affects My Book Live series models that have been on the market since 2010 and have not received software updates since 2015.
The company, which has also started a swap program for the affected users, will allow users to switch to a better supported cloud service within this program. According to the company’s statement, the repair and exchange program will begin in July. For the details of these programs, Western Digital will publish a statement on its official website in the coming days.
