OnePlus smartphones are revered in XDA’s community for their customizability and openness in software, but that doesn’t mean that everything just works when it comes to custom ROMs.
Fingerprint readers that we are used to seeing for years; it was offered to us on the main menu button, side or back side of our smartphones. With the advancing technology, fingerprint readers were removed from visible parts of the devices and embedded in the screen in most of the newly introduced flagships.
OnePlus 6T, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus’s latest released flagship as a smartphone is the title. Thanks to the fingerprint scanner embedded in the screen, the safety level of the device can be kept under high protection in an extremely high way.
The XDA-Developers were unable to fully integrate the on-screen fingerprint scanner into the custom ROMs they produced (their own operating systems on Android). For example, on Pixel smartphones, these fingerprint scanners were not working when Always On Display was turned on.
For OnePlus, this problem is history because Custom ROM, which supports the on-screen fingerprint scanner according to the latest information, is in production for the OnePlus 6T. It is not known when the new ROM will be published, but developers are expected not to publish it until the ROM becomes available to the end user.
