NVIDIA is reportedly preparing a test board for a high-end RTX 40 “Ada” graphics card that works with not one but two full 16-pin power connectors. At this point, no exact model is named, but some details about the GPU have been given.
Information about the power consumption of the GeForce RTX 4090, which is expected to be released this year, came from several different sources. Allegedly, the new flagship will be released with 600W TDP. Some overclocked special models will undoubtedly consume more power.
On the other hand, a huge power consumption of 900W and a different RTX 40 variant are mentioned. At this point, the exact graphics card model has not been specified, but we are considering the possibility of NVIDIA bringing the Titan series back to market. The leaker also claims that this card will have 48GB of 24Gbps memory.
Kopite7kimi also confirmed some features of the RTX 4080/4070 models. NVIDIA is apparently going a bit of an increase on the VRAM side. The RTX 4080 series will be supported with 16GB of GDDR6X memory (4-6GB increase compared to current RTX 3080 models). The RTX 4070 series will use 12GB of memory with 4GB more capacity. In addition, RTX 4080 models will be powered by AD103, and RTX 4070 series will be powered by AD104 GPU silicon.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series, codenamed “Ada Lovelace”, will be available in September or October if rumors are to be believed. As has been the case for years, we expect higher-end cardollars like the RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070 first. In the future, models such as RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 will take their place in the market.
