Dell introduced its new Latitude Rugged series laptop. The company’s description is as follows:
“We often hear from our customers that they want a computer that can handle today’s modern applications, keep them connected wherever they are, run uninterrupted for long periods of time, and remain functional in changing harsh environments. Our Latitude Rugged PC portfolio, which has grown 3x over the last four quarters, is meeting these demands. This growth is largely driven by our response to customer needs, the design of flawless products, and our supply chain leadership.
With the experience we have absorbed so far, we are now focusing much more on the hotspots and use cases our customers are experiencing, such as receiving an emergency call in a rural area or dealing with a critical issue on a remote oil rig. Working hard with our R&D teams, we have redesigned Rugged notebook models that offer the following features:
- Enhanced field productivity with 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processors with optional vPro option
- Mission-critical connectivity options with Intel® Wi-Fi 6E and optional 5G
- With the system’s hot-swappable dual batteries and Express Charge Boost, which enables up to 35% charge in 20 minutes for 24/7 field operations, the battery operating time has been increased to almost 25 hours.
Robustness, reliability and performance are essential when working in the field. However, these do not come at the expense of security. That’s why both the new Dell Latitude 5430 Rugged and Latitude 7330 Rugged Extreme come with TPM 2.0 ControlVault™ advanced authentication for ultimate security. Integrated cryptographic keys, contact and contactless smart card reader and touch fingerprint reader options provide additional device security. ”
