Microsoft Teams will be available soon in the Microsoft Store, included in Windows 11 and Windows 10.
Microsoft will soon release Teams app on Microsoft Store, which will make it easy for users to download and install communication app. Currently the only way to download the “classic” version of Teams is to go to the official website. However, that could change over the next month.
Let’s mention that the Teams application called Classic is the version before the version in Windows 11. Microsoft’s latest operating system comes with a feature called Chat with Microsoft Teams and is powered by a brand new Teams app. This app is designed to work with personal Microsoft accounts only. Users who want to use Teams with a work or school account have to install a different version of the application.
According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the update coming to Microsoft Store in May will facilitate app downloadability. The new version of Teams will be available for both Windows 10 and Windows 11, and the app will show some differences depending on the operating system you have. For example, since Windows 10 does not have Teams integration, the app will support work, school or personal accounts. However, only work and school accounts will be supported in Windows 11.
Microsoft Teams app was previously available in Microsoft Store. Teams, which was on the platform in 2018, was exclusive to Windows 10 S version only. Windows 10 S users could not install apps from outside the Microsoft Store. To eliminate this problem, the Teams application was also integrated into the Store.
Finally, let’s say that the application will be ready to be downloaded from the Microsoft Store in May as stated, but a clear date has not yet been determined.
