new members of the series G96 and G88 announced. Both chipsets are said to have been designed with mobile photography in mind, along with on-screen improvements and overall operating system experience.
The Helio G96 supports a 120Hz display up to Full HD+ resolution and a camera up to 108MP to ensure a smooth animation and scrolling experience. One of the other upgrades is LTE with Cat 13 with higher download speeds. When it comes to gaming, the chipset is built to continue what its predecessor has to offer, thanks to HyperEngine 2.0 Lite gaming technology.
The Helio G88, on the other hand, supports main cameras up to 64 MP after 48 MP with the previous generation. It’s also capable of dual-camera bokeh captures, along with some nifty photography features like electronic image stabilization technologies. The chipset includes two Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs clocked at up to 2.0 GHz, identical to the features found in the previous model. In addition, 90Hz displays are supported, while HyperEngine 2.0 Lite support is included.
MediaTek does not yet provide information on the price and availability of both chipsets.
