We have all witnessed recently that big brands produced chipsets. According to recent information, Intel produces chipsets for Apple’s 2018 model iPhones.
One of the biggest beneficiaries of Apple’s deal with Qualcomm was Intel, which received modem chip orders for iPhones a couple of years ago and has since strengthened its commercial ties with Apple. Intel has begun production of the XMM 7560 modem chips for the new iPhone lineup, which Apple will roll out later this year.
In an interview by Nikkei Asian Review; “XMM 7560 modem chips are currently being deployed for trial and mass production,” says Asha Keddy, Intel’s Vice President of Technology, System Architecture and Customer Group. Keddy, on the other hand, also said that the XMM 7560 modem chips are a milestone for Intel.
Intel modems manufactured with 14nm architecture can also offer up to 1Gbps download speed with 35 LTE band support. In addition, the XMM 7560 modem chip is also the first company that Intel produces modem chips. However, industry experts point out that Intel’s new modem chips have some quality problems. Because of this, the company may not receive all of Apple’s orders.
