We’ve seen a lot of information about the Arc Alchemist display cardollars lately, and we talked about the possibility that the cardollarsars may go on sale in March. Now we’re facing the first confirmed external GPU to leak ahead of Intel’s announcement: the Arc A380.
The Intel Arc A380 is an entry-level card based on the Xe-HPG architecture for gamers. New leaks from SiSoftware suggest that the desktop model will include 1024 FP32 shadowing units (128 Intel Execution Units).
New graphics card variants have entered the SiSoftware benchmarking test series. We don’t know how mature the drivers are and their optimization status, but tesdollarser is fairly recent. The Arc A380 scores 2870 Mpix/s on the General Purpose GPU rendering test.
SiSoftware, of course, may not be the right choice for comparison. Still, if we were to make a comparison, it should be noted that the score is between the NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti and the RTX 3050 mobile screen cards.
Judging by the leak, the Intel Arc A3XX series will indeed be based on the DG2-128EU GPU. Models based on the high-end 512EU GPU may come with a name such as A7XX or A5XX. We expect the blue team to announce their first external Alchemist cards at the upcoming CES 2022 event.
