We expect Intel 12th generation Alder Lake processors to be officially introduced on October 27 and go on sale on November 4. Upcoming new CPUs are now listed on the US computer component and electronics store Micro Center, along with their prices.
The Blue team’s Core i7-12700K model is listed at the retailer for $469.99 and the Core i9-12900K model is priced at $669.99. For comparison, the current-generation Rocket Lake-based Core i9-11900K and Core i7-11700K are priced at $544.89 and $389.99 on Amazon, respectively. If Micro Center’s price hype is true, the Core i9 and Core i7 processors will have seen their high list price in yen so far.
The US-based retailer later removed the pricing information, but product listings and specifications are still available. It is also said that Alder Lake chips are slowly coming to Micro Center’s various retail stores around the country. The product information confirms that the following four chipsets support LGA 1700 processors.
- Intel Z690
- Intel H670
- Intel B660
- Intel H610
While both processors support DDR4-3200 and DDR5-4800 memory, neither comes with a heatsink in the box. Therefore, if you are thinking of choosing one of the new chips, you will need to buy a new cooler.
