Sony has finally activated the SSD upgrade on PlayStation 5 after a long time. As we mentioned earlier, there are some requirements if you want to install an SSD in your PS5.
The requirements listed by Sony do not seem as stringent as expected. However, we wouldn’t be wrong if we say that you have to pay a good price for this upgrade, especially in our country’s high prices. Because SSD sequential read speed needs to be at least 5500 MB/s, and these drives using PCIe 4.0 interface are expensive compared to many players. It should also be noted that M. 2 SSDs in all form factors can be installed in the console.
The console manufacturer says that the drive should have mudollarka cooling, and the maximum size isdollaryellow you can see in the table. Of course, depending on preference, it is possible to install the SSD without cooling. You can also choose a model with ready cooling or you can buy an external cooling.
