German Chancellor Angela Merkel had a telephone conversation with the Libyan National Unity Government Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dibeybe.

In the written statement made by German Government Spokesperson Steffen Seibert, it was stated that Merkel had a phone call with Libyan Prime Minister Dibeybe and the two prime ministers exchanged views on the ceasefire and the progress of the political process in Libya.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Merkel reiterated the German government’s full support for the progress of the political process with the United Nations Mission to Libya (UNSMIL) and the preparations for the national election in December.

The Chancellor also stressed the importance of adhering to all conditions of the ceasefire.
