Micron announced the availability of Crucial DDR5 memory, which offers up to 50% higher data transfer rates than DDR4 memory and aims to provide high performance to mainstream computer users. The bandwidth offered by Micron with DDR5 memory technology gives CPUs the power they need for multitasking and other demanding PC applications.

The DDR5 standard provides better power efficiency and reduces the operating voltage to 1.1 volts. In addition, the new kidollarser will be available in capacities from 16GB to 128GB, and the module density in DDR5 is quadrupled compared to DDR4 DRAM.

Combining higher bandwidth, lower power and higher density, DDR5 will dramatically improve performance for emerging PC applications such as 4K and 8K content creation, interactive entertainment, productivity and virtual reality experiences. In addition, these memories feed bandwidth-hungry, multi-core CPUs, providing better efficiency in multitasking.

Micron’s new Crucial DDR5 memory will work with 12th generation Core processors and most DDR5 motherboards currently available. Crucial memories will come with predefined XMP profiles to enable users to easily boost memory performance up to JEDEC speeds.

Micron Crucial DDR5 RAMs in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities have started to go on sale at retailers around the world.
