12. After the next generation ‘K/KF’ processors, we expect more affordable models at the beginning of next year. A few days ago, we talked about the technical features of some processors. Now, the Premiere Pro test results of the Core i5-12400, which has not been released yet, have emerged.

We’re expecting the Core i5-12400 with a base clock of 2.5 GHz along with six Golden Cove cores that can go up to 4.4 GHz. The Alder Lake processor also has 18MB of L3 cache and 65W PBP (Processor Base Power). On the other hand, the Ryzen 5 5600X, which is a CPU that we can compare currently, carries six Zen 3 cores from AMD, working with a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a boost clock of 4.6 GHz.

Intel Core i5-12400 Performance

CPU Overall Score Export Score Live Playback Score GPU Score
Ryzen 5 5600X 722 79. 3 65. one 64. 7
Core i5-12400 712 78. 7 63. 7 64. 8

This is probably an i5-12400 engineering sample sent to OEMs and there is no definitive information about it. But there are still some details that could affect the Core i5-12400’s numbers. New CPU tesdollarserde DDR4-2400 paired with memory but Ryzen 5 5600X faster DDR4-4000 had memory. Also, both systems are running GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and Windows 10 21H1 (19043).

The Ryzen 5 5600X is only 1% overall over the Core i5-12400. 4 provided more performance. The difference is negligible and within the margin of error. Similarly, we can think that Core i5-12400 will be faster with DDR4-4000 memory. In addition, this chip is likely to perform better when it finally goes on retail sale. Unfortunately, we have to wait for Intel to officially launch its new processors to find a clear answer to these questions. However, it is still possible to say that the Core i5-12400 can easily compete with the Ryzen 5 5600X.
