LGA1700 socketollarsi ASUS Z690 anakardollarsar, prepared for Intel 12th generation Alder Lake processors, has been listed by the EEC (Eurasian Commission). Many motherboard models of ASUS are listed in the product lists. In addition, there is some information about DDR5 memory support.
According to the product listing, ASUS Z690 ROG Maximus will only support DDR5 memory. VideoCardz also says this has been confirmed by some sources at ASUS. Additionally, models like the ROG Maximus and Crosshair will likely no longer use Roman numerals.
ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme, which is expected to be the flagship of the series, as well as FORMULA, Hero and Apex (not listed), will only come with DDR5 RAM support. On the other hand, it seems that ROG STRIX, TUF Gaming and some PRIME motherboards will only support DDR4 memory.
However, some ASUS PRIME motherboards for workstations will apparently support both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. In the leaks, there is no information other than product models and memory support. We’ve seen early retail prices of Intel’s Alder Lake processors, but the Z690 is yet to be listed at retailers.
