From now on, LG smart TV owners with an Apple Music account will be able to access their account even if they don’t have an Apple TV. The Apple music service is available for the brand’s models with webOS version 4.0 and higher. It should be noted that webOS 4.0 was released in 2018, and in this sense, the Apple Music application is accessible for newer models.
Users will encounter an interface and navigation similar to what they might see on an Apple TV. Also, the app is visually similar to the Apple Music experience on iPads, iPhones, Android devices and PC. The service’s LG app gives users access to all their songs, playlists, 4K music videos and live streaming Apple Music Radio. Tracks with time-synced lyrics are also supported. Thus, it is possible to accompany the song while reading the lines on the big screen.
The launch of the app on LG smart TVs stays true to Apple’s strategy of focusing more on its services and making them available on non-Apple hardware. This way, the tech giant is able to reach more potential customers without Apple devices, making its services more real rivals to competitors like Spotify and Netflix.
